This session will demonstrate some of the latest advances in AI-based video encoding, with special emphasis on technologies that can work in tandem with existing standards. A significant part of the presentation will be dedicated to some of the latest perceptual quality metrics and how AI can be used to optimise them across different encoders without breaking standards compatibility and also exploring what possible bitrate savings can be obtained over the state-of-the-art.
